The Operations Department oversees the daily activities for all aspects of Operations in all the MPA terminals:  berth and crane assignments, leasing of terminal acreage and sheds, Maryland International Terminals, Inc. (M.I.T.) operations, tenant interfacing, daily monitoring of all terminal activities to include stevedoring and vehicle processing companies.  Our Logistics Department is also under the Operations “umbrella,” in addition, the Operations’ Department responsibility includes the activities of our Crane Maintenance and General Maintenance Departments.
The Operations Department regularly interfaces with the trucking and railroad communities, ensuring the best possible flow of traffic into and out of our terminals.  The department ensures that cargo is handled in an efficient and cost effective manner that results in positive customer satisfaction.

Operations, also routinely interacts with Customs and Border Patrol, the U.S. Coast Guard, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the Food and Drug Administration, and other Federal agencies to assist with the development and implementation of policies and procedures.
